Structural Drafting Services
Documenting the existing conditions of a structure is the precursor to design in a building project, and gathering accurate information is critical. Understanding the importance of precise building information, we carefully take physical field measurements which are then computerized as CAD drawings for our clients’ sebsequent design usability. Existing conditions documentation includes, but is not limited to; floor plans, ceiling plans, elevations, and sections.
As-Built Drawings
Following the completion of construction we verify, field measure, and record the as-built conditions as computerized CAD drawings. The as-built drawings are compiled to reflect the current building conditions for any changes made to the floor plans, ceiling plans, elevations, sections, and details which deviate from the original contract and/or buildings department approved documents.
Paper to CAD Conversion
Using your hard copy blueprints, sketches, and/or hand drafted drawings; we convert the paper documents into digitized CAD drawings, incorporating your standard layering conventions, line weights, dimensions, and title blocks if needed. The paper to CAD conversion is manually generated in order to produce a computerized document that is dimensionally accurate to the original.
Design Consulting
Working directly with our clients, we assist in the schematic design, design development, and planning of new construction or renovation projects in accordance with local building and municipal codes. The design is finalized as a computerized CAD document that can be revised and updated as needed by the client.

Computer-aided design CAD is the use of computers or workstations
to aid in the creation, modification, analysis, or optimization of a design. CAD
software is used to increase the productivity of the designer, improve the
quality of design, improve communications through documentation, and to create
a database for manufacturing. CAD output is often in the form of electronic
files for print, machining, or other manufacturing operations. The term CADD for
Computer Aided Design and Drafting is also used.
Its use in designing electronic systems is known as electronic
design automation EDA. In mechanical design it is known as mechanical design

Structural Detailing
The difference between design and detailing is, design is the complete creative process of taking an idea from conception and putting that concept to paper for the purpose of manufacture. Where as detailing is the first step of braking the design into manufacture-able pieces. In general these pieces become manufacture-able and are transported to site for erection.

Today, AutoCad drafting has been largely replaced by Solid modelling CAD packages such as Solidworks. A steel detailer using solidworks has been proven to increase there output by 100% compared to 3D Auto-desk Auto-cad traditional methods of detailing.

- Simplify Parts – Only detail items that will be detailed or manufactured and use simplified models for external items.
- Define your hierarchy – of assemblies and sub-assemblies by breaking them up by assembly process, function or manufacturing process.
- Fully-define Sketches – Put some dimensions on anyway. It’ll make the change process easier for you.
- Configurations – only use configurations where necessary and preferably purposes of detailing.
